Woodland Pond Dam Improvement

Woodland Pond Lakefront Association - Chesterfield, VA

Shoosmith completed a dam improvement project for The Woodland Pond Lakefront Association in the fall of 2024. The project started in the summer of 2024 and consisted of a new clay core as well as extending the current rip-rap to meet new county regulations. Shoosmith implemented many ESC measures such as planting a wetland seed mix, EC3 matting on the spillway, and a new drainage system below the dam to help prevent erosion. A new permanent entrance was constructed to allow access for maintenance to the dam.
