Shoosmith Construction has not been affiliated with Shoosmith Bros., Inc. or its Shoosmith Sanitary Landfill since June 2008. At that time, our owner sold the landfill and a related trash pick-up service to a group of investors from Texas. That entity as the owners of the landfill since June 2008 filed for bankruptcy in June 2025.
Other than being neighbors to the landfill, we haven’t had ownership responsibility for its operations since June 2008. Our company does currently share the ‘Shoosmith’ name, and our origins in construction and excavation work date back to the 1940s. Our 150 employees are also concerned about the current state of the shuttered landfill adjacent to our property.
